Not Even On the Map

I’m not sure how to report on my week. I feel like it’s not even on the map, in terms of working on my goals. I didn’t really do any writing, for example. But nonetheless, I feel like it was a fabulous experience that will help me with my goals and life in general.

We spent the week in New Jersey at the first-ever Life Without Instructions unschooling conference. We are an unschooling family, and three of us absolutely LOVE these conferences. The one we attended in NH for several years is no longer (sad face), but this one was fantastic. Many of our friends who used to go to the NH conferences were there, which made it special. We also met a whole bunch of lovely new friends. ElvenTiger enjoyed hanging out with her teen tribe. We had a fun but whirlwind visit to New York City. The sessions that BlackLion and I offered at the conference were very well received, and we’ve had a lot of folks showing interest in Feline Dreamers and what we do. I sold some books, too. Most importantly, we had a fantastic time!

We traveled all day on Friday to get back home. We dropped a couple of friends off in Boston, and experienced lots of traffic going into and back out of the city. We weren’t grumpy about it or anything, but it did take a lot longer to get home than we’d thought.

On Saturday, a dear friend was getting married, and I was the officiant! It all went very well, and was a really special day. Today I drove up the coast with my Mom, Dad, and brother Eric to go to lunch. It was a gorgeous day and we had fun together, and took lots of pictures of the foliage and the pretty harbor.

Now, I’m tired. I’m an introvert, and while I did practice self-care during the conference, it was still a LOT of input. I have the feeling I’ll be processing all these new ideas and inspirations and interactions for a while. I’m thankful, and feeling very blessed, even as I sit here in my PJs and chill out.

Goals for this week:

  • Recover from my busy week by practicing self-care and writing in my journal.
  • Get ready for the upcoming coaching course by posting my pre-homework and organizing my notes from the September course.
  • Get back to working on my DSP book.
  • Finish and send my ROW 80 sponsor post.

I hope you have a restful and productive week!

Life in Progress

I’m a day late with my ROW 80 update again; perhaps Mondays work better for me for posting with my updates. Either way, I’m going to post, rather than just shrug and mentally note that I missed it, which is what I was doing back in the summer. That’s progress, right? Right.

Mercury retrograde finally caught up with me, after not troubling me before now. I’m thankful for that. And today, well, computers and I aren’t really speaking the same language, if you know what I mean.

It’s okay.

It actually helps me toward one of my goals, which is “fix or replace my laptop.” It’s on its way to the computer doctor tomorrow morning, yay!

A zentangle in progress in my art journal.

My main focus this week has been on blogging, and that’s going well. I’m writing new material for my blog, and have two big guest posts in the works. I’m on track with my craft learning, keeping up with the Conquer Summit videos and trying some of the homework. Other creative pursuits I’ve been up to are zentangling, shown here as a page in progress in my art journal, and being inspired with ideas for my NaNo novel. I haven’t started my outline for that yet, but I’m plotting it in my head a bit first.

We went to the movies last night, the whole family, and saw “Guardians of the Galaxy.” It was fantastic! and inspired lots of new ideas.

I’ve noticed my energy lagging with the season and the moon, but I’m almost through this busy patch and soon will retreat to my cat cave to create, create create. So be it.
