Such As It Was

This is my recap of Round 3, such as it was. I have been distracted by…I don’t know, life, I guess. It does go on. Things have been very busy, and a lot of it involved me helping out other people with their projects. I don’t know why I sometimes get so caught up with those things that I don’t leave time to get to my own soul work. I’m not getting down on myself about it – or mostly not – I’m just curious, and ready to refocus on my stuff more.

I guess I’ll call Round 3 mostly a wash, and start up fresh in Round 4. On the plus side, I’ve been learning a lot about myself this summer, and I have had some fun times along with the challenging ones.

Here’s a recap on my goals for ROW 80 Round 3:

De-clutter and organize my work spaces. Purchase and set up my new laptop. Save the pertinent files from the old laptop. Clean my upstairs desk, bookshelves, and filing cabinets. Create beautiful, inviting, and user-friendly working spaces. I have done a bit of decluttering and organizing, but not enough to put more than a dent in it. I had my current laptop repaired, instead of getting a new one, which was (in hindsight) a mistake. The old one works faster, certainly, but it crashes regularly, which makes it hard to use for much serious work. Bleah.

In collaboration with BlackLion, edit, revise and polish our NaNoWriMo 2013 novel, The Door Is the Key. Have it sent out to our beta readers by the end of the Round. We haven’t taken much time to work on it lately, so there is still a lot to do here. And it’s almost time for a new NaNoWriMo already!

Upgrade my blogging. Post to my Starcat’s Corner blog at least 3 times per week, and on this blog at least 2 times per week. Write and edit at least three guest blog posts and have them posted. Start and keep a running list of blog post ideas, drafts, and picture ideas. I haven’t kept up with my two personal blogs, really. I do have an ongoing list of post ideas, which is good. I’m doing pretty well with the guest posting, and will have more of it as fall progresses.

Continue my craft learning. Read Rock Your Plot and other fiction-writing how-tos. Read more about ethical marketing and promotion. Keep notes on ideas to use this fall. Haven’t done much of this.

Play with writing and creating. Work on outlining my novel for NaNoWriMo 2014. Write something new and unexpected. Make some new pages in my art journal. Really haven’t made much progress here, either. Though I do plan to do NaNo this year, and I’m looking forward to it.

Expand my spiritual awareness and the integration of all aspects of my life. Do the assigned exercises in Evolutionary Witchcraft (a book I’m working through with my Full Moon circle). Pay more attention to my dreams and intuitions. I’ve done okay here.

Enjoy my life and go with the flow. Do things I love: write in my journal, do yoga, drum, dance, and express my gratitude. Eat well and exercise. Get outdoors on a regular basis. Doing fairly well here. I have times where it really flows, and others where I’m struggling. I need to ponder about how to go with the flow more.
